This is before I have to turn them into my teacher and get a grade for it. I don't understand how teachers can seriously give me a grade for a poem that I wrote: boggles my mind. But I guess more power to them. This specific poem was based off of an exercise we did in class, called found poetry. Our teacher had a stack of books of different topics: from Salvador Dali and the New Yorker, and all the way to Linear Algebra. What we did was we each had a certain amount of time with each book, and we were to find interesting quotes or phrases. Ultimately we were to compose of poem of all or most of these phrases we "found", hence the name. I found this exercise to be more work than I had thought, and for the most part the poem is all ME.

If you guys wanted to discuss what I wrote or find out what exactly I was trying to say or portray, let me know. This is about my fourth or fifth revision. Oh, and it's still in the works, so don't expect to much.

Here it is,

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> But now I've found motivation and reason for posting now.

So I am taking this poetry class at school. At first, I was like poetry? really? I am only taking this so I don't have to take a more time-demanding and challenging course. Now as 5 weeks have passed and I actually gave this course and the idea of poetry a chance, I am seriously starting to love writing. It's really crazy that now I feel that I can actually put my thoughts and emotions into words and in the form of poetry.

My first post will be from an assignment I had last week: the assignment was to answer five questions my teacher (Luke) gave us. First, pick a person that you can describe well. Second, pick a place. Third, describe the person's hand with as much detail as possible, and fit it into one sentence. Fourth, write a metaphor of the place you chose. And finally, compose a question containing an action the person chosen is doing and answer that question. With that, we were to compose a villanelle poem (a 19 line poem, composed of the 5 3-line stanzas and ending in a 4-line stanza; also it has a specific rhyming pattern, which you will see when reading, that I haven't gotten down yet.)

This is what I came up with...

Can we go to New Zealand and continue it there?
I heard they live free with no cares at all;
It will be magnificent, your hand still through my hair.

This cliff let's enjoy the fruits those trees bear,
Silence around us, not even a bird call;
Light enough to see your color, so fair.

Pondering in silence: state flower, flag, and mayor,
Do I love you more, or you me the same... draw.
We can play a game, I choose the Dare.

How can we be? Just like the inhabitants here...
This culture unmatched... just nature, no mall,
No cars, no smog, no busy, not a care.

Why did we come here? Do we even care?
Did we forget our lives? Did our stocks fall?
It means nothing, your hand still through my hair.

On the same page, it would only be fair,
to be here with you, our problems seem small.
Can we stay in New Zealand and continue it here?
It will be magnificent, your hand still through my hair.

jdotdotdot
eight...

Is the guy for REALS?!

This guy is pretty ridiculous. First of all, watching either of these teams lose hurt equally. I can't really speak for the Lakers, because they had no heart in the finals; they will always be my favorite sports team ever but this year was their year, well at least I thought. They made it all the way to the big show but couldn't finish it, also it didn't look like they did all year. Now about the Eaters, even with the loss of our previous head coach back to Cal State Fullerton, we still managed to make it to the super regionals (top 16 teams in the nation). We beat LSU (who have not lost the previous 23 games) in the first game, and lost the next two. After watching the first game, I thought we would at least one of the next two and once again be at the College World Series. This year was not a full disappointment, we saw mad potential for next year, and next year will be our year!

First off

First off, welcome to my space, my blog, my ideas, my life, my den.
